The Charger baseball season ended Monday night after a tough 11-8 loss to Mission Valley in the regional semi-final.
Chargers played Lebo-Waverly first round of regionals at Wabaunsee. Winning 4-3, the team advanced on to the semi-final game against Mission Valley.
The Chargers kept the score close until the Vikings had a big fifth inning, scoring six runs to the Charger’s three. The team lost the close game 8-11.
The Chargers finished the season with a 6-13 record.
“The games started off strong then mellowed out. We ended up getting a win,” assistant coach Garrett Eck said.
“The second game started off pretty even, then the energy kinda died down. One error turned into two. Then the next thing you know we we were down as little bit. They tried to fight back but just not enough. Mission Valley has some good pitching though, they were pumping strikes we just weren’t able to make an adjustment” Eck said.
The team graduates two seniors, Logan Brown and Austin Magette.
