Under new direction, the WHS band and choir will have its opening concert tonight.
“I’m really excited about finally getting to perform with the band and choir in our beautiful auditorium,” director Jaime Rogers said. “Both groups are going to make some good music tonight. We’re going to perform and it’s going to sound awesome.”
The choir, accompanied by LeRoy Johnson, will sing “The Sound of Silence,” “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera and “Take on Me” by a-ha as well as a few others.
The band will perform a variety of selections including “Air for Band” a traditional concert march, “The Headless Horseman” and “Great Movie Adventures” a John Williams collection.
“I feel really comfortable,” Rogers said. “Both groups are ready to go and I’m really confident and excited. I’m ready to do the concert.”
The concert will take place at 7 p.m. in the WHS auditorium.
