To celebrate the end of a year that we are all happy to put behind us, the Charger staff compiled the ten biggest WHS stories of the 2020. From sports to elections to unexpected plagues — it was quite a year. Check back every day until the end of the year to see the biggest stories of 2020.
4. Football wins a playoff game
The football team won its first playoff game in 37 years against Pleasanton 62-18. Cade Oliver threw for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns and Derek Wallin had 4 touchdowns. Although the team would go on to lose the following week, the 4-6 finish was a big step forward for coach Rutledge’s third season leading the program.
