“It helps that we have everyone healthy and out of quarantine.” junior Cade Oliver said. “We’ve been a lot more high energy during the games and played with intensity during the last three games.”

The team faces Riley County Friday at home, looking to improve its 4-10 record and add another MEL win.

Girls basketball looks to bounce back after loss to Mission Valley

Girls basketball lost its last two games and have been without junior Lauren Schutter due to injury. After beating Lyndon on the road 47-38, they went on to lose to Rossville, 53-40 and Mission Valley 47-37.

The team faces Riley County at home as they look to get out of their slump. Girls lost to Riley County last time 45-10. Three freshmen started that game: Karli Meseke, Kaci Meseke and Taryn Maike.

The players have worked to improve since they last faced the Falcons. “We’ve focused on eliminating turnovers and getting offensive rebounds,” Maike said.
