Last week, senior Ryleigh Jones celebrated her signing to Cloud County Community College for softball. “They have a good community and I like their coach and campus,” Jones said.
Jones thinks she will bring a lot to the team.
“I’m a good teammate to have around. I learn well, and I pay attention when it matters,” Jones said.
Jones is a great leader for the softball team right now.
“She’s a senior, definitely knows the game, she’s going to go out and anything we (coaches) ask her to do she is able to do on the field, and if we need her to show the younger girls something she’s able to show them,” said assistant coach Garrett Eck.
“Ryleigh is one of our leaders, one of our captains, she’s a really good center fielder, and she plays a vital role in our team,” said head coach Joe Dee Tarbutton.
In the two games so far this season, Jones is batting .500 with 3 hits, 3 RBIs, and 6 runs. As a sophomore, Jones hit .320 with 16 hits, 7 RBIs, 13 runs, and had a fielding percentage of .941.
