Freshman create editorial cartoons about local issues

English 1 students created editorial cartoons as part of their introduction to graphic novels. Here are some of their creations.


Artist Kinsley Peterson created a prom dress made of face masks. 
Artist Miguel Hernandez wrote about Covid restrictions in sports.
Artist Miguel Hernandez wrote about struggles in math class.

“I think that most of the things we learn in geometry won’t be used in everyday life,” artist Sophia Castillo said.
Artist Eliza Barton wrote about the school dress code.
Artist Kaci Meseke wrote about dress code hypocrisy.
Zach Frank (with help from Miguel Hernandez), created a cartoon about the bond issue.
Karli Meseke created a cartoon about the bond.
Taryn Maike wrote about the bond issue.
Heather Baker crated a cartoon about Covid protocols in band.
