In honor of the new FFA member’s joining the organization and of the home cross country meet tonight, we look back more than 20 years to the 1990-91 Charger yearbook.
In cross country, the girls won the Mid-East League and became the first WHS girls squad to compete at state, placing tenth.
The current cross country team competes this afternoon at the Jason Mckinney Memorial Meet east of the WHS football field.
The schedule of events is
4:00 – Jr High Girls 7th & 8th together (2 mile)
4:30 – Jr High Boys 7th & 8th together (2 mile)
5:00 – Girls’ Varsity & JV (5K)
5:45 – Boys’ Varsity & JV (5K)
6:30 – Awards
In FFA, John Wertzberger and Shannon Michaelis won the Dekalb Award. Wertzberger also won the Star Farmer Award and Kelly Berroth was named the Star Agribusinessman.
