Student teacher Brooklyn Rhyne is working with Diane Breiner in family and consumer science classes.
Rhyne is a Kansas State University student majoring in Family and Consumer Science Education. “In high school I had a very good FCS teacher. I felt inspired to join that field because of that and because I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher,” Rhyne said.
Rhyne started off observing classes and quickly transitioned into teaching.
“Student teaching is better than I expected. It has been a blast getting to know everybody,” Rhyne said.
Rhyne has been taking over classes and giving daily lessons to students of Breiner’s classes. Rhyne is also helping with some FCCLA preparations for the upcoming events.
“I want to gain experience in the classroom and an idea of where I should head after graduation. It’s always nice to build connections with teachers in the area too,” Rhyne said.
