WHS stays in 2A classification

Wabaunsee stays classified as a 2A school for the 2022-2023 year. 

With 131 students, the Kansas State High School Activities Association, puts WHS along with 64 other schools from a range of 110 to 173 students, including  St. Marys and Mission Valley. 

Notably, Rock Creek has moved up from 3A to 4A with 75 students more than last year. 

As for changes that could potentially affect activities, Cair Paravel Latin School in Topeka moved from 1A to 2A, and Pleasant Ridge in Easton moved from 3A to 2A. Schools leaving the 2A class include Atchison County, Maur Hill Mount Academy in Atchison and Bishop Seabury in Lawrence.
