Football ends regular season with a win
Football defeated Horton Friday, 56-14. The Chargers enter the playoffs with a 7-1 record.
The Chargers scored all 56 points in the first half. Junior Wyatt Wurtz had 240 total yards and 5 touchdowns. Senior Eli Oliver doesn’t normally run the ball, but he had a 49-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter. Oliver also returned a punt for a touchdown.
Sophomore Jude Meseke had 5 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.
The Chargers enter the playoffs as district champions and top overall seed in the West. They open the postseason Thursday at home against 1-7 Belle Plaine.

Volleyball season ends at substate
Volleyball ended its season Saturday with a loss to the top-seed Maranatha Christian Academy.
The Chargers were able to win their first-round match against Cair Paravel in three sets.
In the second round, the Chargers dominated the first set with a 25-16 win.
Maranatha was able to bounce back though with two straight wins, 25-21 and 25-17.
Volleyball ended the season with an 18-20 record, and missed advancing to the state tournament for the first time since 2017
The Chargers graduate four seniors: Annie Wright, Lexi Barnes, Paxton Meyer and Hadlee Diepenbrock.
