9/11 quilt hangs in WHS commons 20 years after tragedy

On the twentieth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attack we look back at how some Wabaunsee High School students commemorated the tragedy. A year after the September 11th attack, three FCCLA students decided that they wanted to create something to commemorate the men and women who lost their lives that day. Lesa Hajny, a member of that group, spoke about what the process to create that quilt was like.

Throwback Thursday | 2003 FCCLA

This week, in honor of both FCCLA rush week and the 20th anniversary of 9/11, we look back to the 2002-03 FCCLA club. As part of a STAR event, students created an American flag quilt to remember 9/11. The flag, which still hangs in the commons today, features a square from every WHS student.
