New cheer coach Jordan Dunn is trying to get her bearings before making any changes. “I’m just trying to overcome the learning curve of being new and becoming familiar with what’s already been in place,” Dunn said.

At the start of the school year Mid-East League athletic directors and administrators met to establish changes for athletic events to avoid risks associated with COVID-19. While some changes will affect fans, the actual participants in most activities will only experience small changes.
Cheering and Dance are two staples to every college. Shelby Wright will be a part of those staples at Allen County Community College next year.
Wright has cheered for WHS during both football and basketball seasons. The WHS cheer team also doubled as the dance team, performing during the halftime of the football games and the boys basketball games.
The cheerleaders this year sold shakers and cup cakes with poker chips in them for their money making projects. They also sold helium filled balloons at one of the football games and they made banana splits for all of the football players. During the summer they attended a cheerleading camp in Emporia.
